The Hype Over ‘Storing Winds and Coagulating Qi’

By Vin Leo.

Storing wind talks about the embraces of the Green Dragon and White Tiger; the Black Turtle and the Red Phoenix. This is a typical arm chair formation meant to coagulate Qi. This is not the most important art as expounded in most Feng Shui tours. Otherwise Flat Land Dragons or non-mountainous areas are disadvantaged. This shows the lack of an in depth understanding of the Art of Chinese Metaphysics.

Receiving water refers to the art of tapping Qi while storing wind refers to the coagulating of Qi. The classic clearly placed importance on the water method. This is also the reason why a flat land can enhance prosperity in the absence of mountainous landform. In fact, mountainous landforms create moving violent Qi. A spiral landform is not necessary good. It also depends on the gradient of the slope and the speed of the water flow though the water is generally cleaner. The people living in these landforms tend to be more contented, less political and tend to appreciate life even in all their hardships.

The embraces known as the White Tiger and Green Dragon are overhyped. They can be used as a divination technique to assess the health, authority and influence of the male and female counterparts and assessment of the water flow. The definition of the embraces nowadays is also differed from that of classical studies. The embraces are not the Green Dragon and the White Tiger.

San Yuan and San He have their different water methods. Water methods refer to the tapping of Qi. A house can be located with a prosperous landform, but it may not perform well if it is unable to tap Qi.

This account for the many fishing villages along the coastal areas, despite being well sheltered in a cove, still faces hardships in their daily lives. Imagine the many spiral villages in China, like those that produce Feng Shui Masters and Prime Minister, they remain but another poor village. Much ado about the magnificence of a spiral city.
